Young people’s passion for the future of our industry: Sara’s experience at GBZ

Magazine

Sara is 18 years old and has a great passion for the world of mechanics: last spring she found in GBZ the ideal company for her school internship.

But when a predilection is already so pronounced at such a young age, two weeks are not enough, one always wants to go deeper: this is why our company has also welcomed her in the summer months to continue her training and nurture her interest in our sector day after day.

It was an opportunity both for the fourth-year student of the Mechanics, Mechatronics and Energy course at the IIS Tassara-Ghislandi in Breno, who was able to “get her hands dirty” and prove her skills in an environment that is still considered a male prerogative, and for the GBZ team, who were able to indulge Sara’s curiosity, answering her questions and involving her in the various activities that are carried out in our company.

During the two weeks in which the girl did her school internship, her willingness to learn, combined with a great passion for mechanics and a sunny disposition, did not go unnoticed: this is why we decided to welcome her back to the company during the months off school.

From mid-June until the end of August, under the supervision of our production department, Sara was able to get to know the world of mechanical machining better, proving a growing familiarity with lathes, milling machines and machine tooling.

An experience that has shown us once again how talented young people, if supported in the development of curiosity and skills learnt in school, can prove their worth by putting themselves to the test in the local area.

We are proud to have had Sara in our company and wish her all the best for the completion of her studies and for her future professional adventure.
